Transcranial Photo-biomodulation with Near-Infrared Light
Photo-biomodulation therapy (PBMT) effects an important role in neural regeneration and function enhancement.
Photo-biomodulation therapy (PBMT) has been applied for traumatic and degenerative brain diseases in terms of infrared or near-infrared light (600-1,200 nm).
PBMT (~800 nm) irradiation will help cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to induce neuronal differentiation of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSCs) in early stage, and can enhance the mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) tissue repair, differentiation and proliferation.
Photoreceptor regulation of cytochrome c oxidase activity is the most important mechanism of action, and PBMT can enhance secondary metabolism by modulating mitochondrial function, neurotransmission,
and redox status.
Our approach is based on the activation of signaling pathways by photons, in response to specific molecules in living organisms. We also employ computational brain
image analysis in terms of MRI and deep learning algorithm for certain personalized therapeutic purposes.
